Q. What about extreme cold conditions? A. Daikin heat pumps will operate down to -15 C although the heat output will be reduced and there are some circumstances where additional heating may be necessary.
Q. What about running costs? A. Heat pumps produce 3 to 4kw of heat for every 1kw of power input. This means heat pump heating costs are about 1/3 of other electric heating systems. An inverter type heat pump can be 30% cheaper again to run.
Q. What is an inverter type heat pump? A. This type of heat pump has an electronic speed controlled compressor which speeds up or slows down depending on room temperature. Where as standard type heat pumps run their compressors at full speed while the unit is calling for heat. The benefits are smooth temperature control and lower running costs.
Q. Which type to buy? A. This very much depends on specific requirements for each home/office.
